In many ways, laughter truly is the best medicine. Humor can heal. It also can increase awareness about the plight many of our brave military members face upon returning from combat. Traumatic brain injuries and post-traumatic stress disorder are common ailments among military personnel who have returned from war. Laughs for the Troops helps heal the invisible wounds of post-traumatic stress (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI) through humor. We host comedy events throughout the country for military personnel and their families. We also hold golf tournaments, 5K runs and barbecues to raise funds that help advance our goal of increasing awareness of traumatic brain injuries and PTSD. Laughs for the Troops also is building a tribute car that will be auctioned off, and those proceeds will be used to build awareness of these injuries. We help fund research for traumatic brain injury and PTSD, and we work with VA hospitals that treat veterans who suffer from these conditions.
