STAN takes each student by the hand. Not in a patronizing, but a protective way. At STAN, you’re safe, you feel at ease. Truly anything goes, but always with respect for each other. STAN shows students the way through the city, giving away secret tips that only locals know about, giving them the confidence to explore the city on their own or with friends. To live, to study and maybe even eventually to work in it. That’s why you can dissect STAN into two words: Student & Antwerp, which is also our baseline. ‘And’ and not ‘in’, because our students and the city are equal. It’s an interaction, a relationship. After all, it’s not just about us, but about both of us. For some it will be love at first sight; others we will have to win over slowly and gradually. This makes clear what STAN stands for, straight away. STAN is not some hip gimmick, but has got substance.
