WestWind Energy Pty Ltd is an Australian company dedicated to the development, construction, operation and management of wind farms and other renewable energy projects in Australia. Our vision is to use clean energy and innovation to bring light to people's lives. WestWind Energy is part of the WestWind Group of companies based in Kirchdorf in North-Western Germany. WestWind Energy established itself in Victoria, Australia in 2004, following an invitation from the Victorian and Federal Governments. Since then WestWind Energy has successfully worked with stakeholders and investors to bring four wind farms in Victoria to various stages of the development pipeline. These include the 321MW Moorabool Wind Farm project which was sold to Goldwind in 2016; the 216MW Lal Lal Wind Farm project, which was sold to Macquarie Capital in early 2017; the 131MW Mt Mercer Wind Farm, which was sold to Meridian Energy in 2009 and is now fully operational; and a planning permit application was recently submitted to the State Government for the 800MW Golden Plains Wind Farm. WestWind Energy’s mission is to be a driver of change towards a sustainable energy future for our planet.
