www.visituniongap.comFounded more than a century ago, Union Gap is nestled in the ‘gap’ of the Yakima Valley foothills that separate the southern half of the Valley from the City of Yakima. Union Gap has gained the reputation of a place to truly “Live History” while offering great shopping, unique events and authentic restaurants - including James Beard award-winning Los Hernandez Tamales. The Yakima Valley’s only indoor shopping mall, the Valley Mall, is located in Union Gap and is home to more than 80 specialty stores, merchants and restaurants. A newer addition to Union Gap is the Yakima Farmers Market which runs every Sunday, Mother’s Day through the end of October. One of Union Gap’s most popular attractions is the Central Washington Agricultural Museum. The museum is full of agricultural history and has one of the largest collections of multiple generations of tractors, harvesters and other farm machines you’ll find on the West Coast. It’s also home to the Olde Yakima Letterpress Museum. It’s located next to Fullbright Park which has a 15-hole disc golf course. Union Gap’s Haunted October is a popular time to visit the Union Gap Corn Maze and the Madd Hatter’s Haunt. There are a variety annual festivals that allow residents and visitors to dip their toes in Union Gap’s rich history. Enjoy Old Town Days every Father’s Day weekend which includes the popular Civil War reenactment and living history camps, or stroll through the Pioneer Power Show and Swap Meet every August and explore Union Gap’s agricultural heritage! Step back in time for the Baroness War in April, showcasing medieval fighting with everyone dressed in period clothing. Plus, the Plowing Bee & Horse Spectacular attracts horse lovers from throughout the Pacific Northwest to watch these gentle giants pull their plows and offer carriage rides to spectators.
