The Medical Justice Alliance (MJA) is a nonprofit organization working to protect people in carceral settings and ensure that they receive appropriate medical care as guaranteed by the constitution. MJA trains volunteer physicians to provide pro bono expert medical testimony that informs judges and agencies about gaps in care or appropriateness of medical release. The organization is the first and only national clearinghouse for such expert medical testimony and removes the cost barrier for these crucial documents.
