In the School of Humanities, Languages and Social Science (HLSS), social justice is central to our study and research, as it encourages us to understand our evolving societies, our diversity, our individuality and our attempts to protect and express community. We also extend this to include the exploration of human history, of human struggle and of the rights of Indigenous peoples and other minorities. While technology and automation will increasingly dominate our global communities and our individual lives, humanities and social science bring critical analysis, problem solving and creativity - crucial skills for navigating the challenges humanity faces. We analyse and document events, issues and stories, to better appreciate how movements for change can challenge the world and our daily interactions within it.
