Adventures Under the Sun (AUSun as in "awesome!") is a small, adventure travel business based in Costa Rica founded by Mélida Barbee, a Costa Rica,/US dual citizen and seasoned and profesional athlete with extensive knowledge and experience in the outdoor industry. AUSun creates awareness and stimulates change through sustainable travel and unique environmental, social and adventure-based learning experiences. We offers customized itineraries for student groups, families and friends. Summer expeditions are offered twice a year for local and foreign teenagers, and we offer surf lessons and outfit surf programs for foreign programs looking to enhance their experiences. We travel to all regions in-country for top of the line adventure travel, and have connections with fabulous communities in need of help for service learning programs. We work closely with a local language school to include language extensions to our trips and hire only licensed local guides, trained by us, to keep things authentic.
