As retail and online commerce grows in India, due to its virtual nature, consumers can easily browse products of several stores. While this gives consumers access to "several thousand options", it also makes the task of "which one shall I go for?" hard, and in particular, very hard for the need-driven-time-starved-purchaser with limited know-how. Mosix Tech is working on this problem and taking a biz + tech approach towards solving it. It believes there is a huge potential if we can tap into the know-how people have of good, bad and ugly products. This, coupled with recommendations can play a vital role in easing up the job of the consumer to discover good value-for-money products. However, till date, it has been very difficult to capture this human know-how. Our vision is to capture this, in a manner that can make a sustainable and repeatable business model work.
