We believe in a world where all people are empowered to turn the tide of climate change. Klima's mission is to support a sustainable and equitable transition to climate resilience for rural, coastal, and underrepresented communities through collaboration, education, and targeted action. We have spoken with thousands of community residents throughout the US and global South about their needs and desires for their livelihoods and families in the face of climate risks. Through research, practice, and collaboration, we have developed methods to sustainably grow long term resilience in vulnerable communities. The core of our support is stakeholder engagement and local knowledge. We know that resilience requires rapport and trust between local, national, and institutional actors, and our methods provide the groundwork for collaboration, even with conflicting interests. We use innovative, research-tested approaches to identify, assess, and manage climate resilience in socio-ecological systems. As an isolated community, it's easy to feel alone and unsupported. Therefore, we build partnerships between communities with education, workshops, and exchanges, to support sustainable practices and organically build community economic diversification. Finally, we work with communities to magnify their voices and acquire funding through multi-platform content.
