Pre-Health Achievement Association
phaacolorado.wixsite.comPHAA Mission: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” This seemingly simple question can warrant feelings of doubt, anxiety, and insecurity for many students. Currently, there are clear and multifactorial disparities within most health profession training programs and the healthcare field. Underrepresented minorities (URMs) are at a great disadvantage in having the confidence, social support, and connections that can mold academically exceptional students into extraordinary candidates for health profession training. At PHAA, we hope to expose students from URM groups to experiences that will act as the impetus for their confident pursuit to not only enter their desired career fields, but to become leaders within them. Pre-Health Achievement Association (PHAA) provides underrepresented minorities (URMs) and low-resource undergraduates with mentors, application help, workshops, panels, shadowing opportunities, and more. This organization was created with the mindset of providing leadership opportunities and connections to underrepresented minority (URM) students with a low-cost, sustainable program design that can grow easily to help as many pre-health students as possible!
