Cristo Rey New York High School
www.cristoreyny.orgMission: Cristo Rey New York High School is a co-ed, college-prep school, part of the national Cristo Rey Network. We serve students of all faiths who have demonstrated the potential and motivation to achieve success and who do not have the educational background or financial means to attend another private, college-prep school. Guided by the spirit of care for the individual, cura personalis, we challenge all our students with a rigorous academic curriculum and a demanding work-internship program. Our ultimate goal is that our students will graduate from college and become professionals for others, transforming the world for the good of their families and society. History: Cristo Rey New York High School (CRNYHS) was founded out of a great impulse to help bring about social justice. The central challenge we address is providing access to a quality college-preparatory education for students from low-income families. CRNYHS opened in September 2004 with a freshman class of 99 students. In May 2010, CRNYHS earned accreditation by the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS). In June of 2022, the school celebrated it's 15th graduating class of 96 seniors. Typically 98-100% of our graduates will enroll in college, including at schools like Fordham, USC, Franklin & Marshall, Georgetown, Dartmouth, University of Virginia, Brown, SUNY - Binghamton, Princeton, Amherst, University of Scranton, Williams, Columbia, Bates, University of Michigan, Cornell and Colgate.
