Italian Agency for Development Cooperation has been operating in Myanmar through its Yangon Office since January 1, 2016, by replacing the former Local Technical Unit (UTL) located at the Embassy of Italy. The Italian Cooperation work in Myanmar aligns with the development priorities set by the Myanmar Government (2012 National Framework of Economic and Social Reforms), and focuses its intervention on key sectors such as rural development, governance, protection of cultural heritage and sustainable tourism as key to socio-economic development, and gender.
