Action Foundation is a charity started by City Church Newcastle to provide support for people that are isolated in the Tyneside area and opportunities to help them overcome their exclusion. Currently we are running three charitable projects and two social enterprises: • 'Action Housing' provides accommodation and support to destitute asylum seekers. • 'Action Letting' manages property for landlords and lets them to homeless refugees. • 'Action Language' provides free English language classes to migrants that cannot reasonably access mainstream ESOL provision and more intensive classes for those that can afford to pay for it to fund our free classes. • 'Action Befriending' matches volunteer befrienders with isolated older people, and runs a monthly Tea Club at The CastleGate.
