www.crabcc.comCRABCC srl -The CRABCC (Biotechnology Research Center for Cardiothoracic Applications) is a private research center dedicated to different animal model in vivo studies. The CRABCC works under the Italian law D.Lg 26/14 and the European regulatory 2010/63/UE for the use of animals in scientific research. The CRABCC was founded in 1997 inside the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Milan, as an independent intra-university research center. In 2009 CRABCC become a private company. As university spin-off, CRABCC continues the collaboration with the academic scientific research, but it's also oriented to provide services to companies involved in biomedical fields. The CRABCC is located in Rivolta d’Adda (CR) near Milan. It has a joint with Lazzaro Spallanzani Institute. The structure consists of two surgical theatres (120m2 - 45m2), an area of washing and sterilization, meeting rooms, a classroom and an area for large animals anaestesia induction. It is also equipped for animal housing for long term studies. The CRABCC staff is composed of selected DVM (doctors veterinary medicine) specialized in animal laboratory medicine. The CRABCC can use the Rivolta d’Adda facility for large animal model studies (suine, sheep and goat). In particular, CRABCC actively participates in numerous research projects with different groups belonging to biomedical research. It has large experience in the research of new biomaterials for regenerative medicine in large bone and cartilage defects. Field of interest: Research protocols on animal models (in vivo/ ex vivo) 1.
