Employ to Empower (ETE) is a local, grassroots charity that empowers people with work and social barriers through entrepreneurial resources. Using a hand-up over hand-out approach, we offer business fundamentals training, personalized mentorship, micro-loans and self-advocacy opportunities.  Truly, almost a quarter of disadvantaged Downtown Eastside (DTES) residents are striving to become entrepreneurs as an avenue for earning an income, developing confidence and contributing to their community. Unlike traditional entrepreneurship, success is relative and is not measured by merely economic wealth - and for the DTES residents, engaging with ETE is all about respect, self-esteem and also some business generated income. Learn more about our story on Global News Live.
