Escape Character enables performers, theater companies, and experience designers to create live, ticketed, engaging experiences over telepresence; the next generation of entertainment. Gamers who grew up playing MMOs now have less spare time and a higher expectation of quality. Escape Character enables premium participatory entertainment with a live performer in the loop. “When I, Dustin, was growing up in Kingston doing community theatre, everyone told me I had to move to a big city to do theatre for real. This is dumb. With the power of telepresence, we can put on live, participatory theatre shows from anywhere, to anywhere. This is why I founded Escape Character - to build the platform for telepresence immersive theatre.” Escape Character was founded by Dustin Freeman after a PhD in Computer Science and Theater, and a couple years working at large digital research institutions and Silicon Valley building experiences on emerging platforms. Escape Character is currently looking for seed-stage investment.
