Established in 1975, Services for Adults Staying In Their Homes (SASI) helps seniors and other adults who, due to aging, disability, illness or injury, need assistance at home. Our highly-trained caregivers provide such services as personal care, companionship, meal planning and preparation, driving clients to errands and appointments, meal planning, shopping and meal preparation, and more. We make living easier. SASI sponsors community events which bring best practices, new research and common wisdom about aging to enrich the lives of older adults and their families. Events include: * Free Educational Programs * Free programs to support family caregivers and aging in place *CEU workshops for professionals in the field of aging *Best Day of My Life...So Far... writing groups to facilitate memory and alleviate loneliness in older adults. Senior Connections, a program of SASI, builds friendships by matching trained volunteer visitors with older adults in one-on-one caring relationships. These friendships enable older adults to continue their participation in the community and build the multigenerational strength of Evanston and surrounding communities. We also provide a Wellbeing Call Service where clients are contacted once or twice weekly via phone, at no charge.
