Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Kottayam is a Government Engineering College located in the district of Kottayam, Kerala, India. This public institute for higher technical education was established in the year 1991, named after the late prime minister, Shri. Rajiv Gandhi. In the last 25 years of its existence, RIT (which it is popularly known as) has emerged as a leading technical education institute in the State of Kerala.
