Movement | DFW

www.movementdfw.com

Movement | DFW was first conceived in a conversation between Mac Pier, Tim Keller, and Bob Doll. They recognized that cities throughout the world were facing three common challenges. First the aging of Christianity, then the speed and growth of migration into cities, and finally the division in the church racially and denominationally. The first Movement Day Expression took place in Manhattan in 2010 hosted by Movement.org. Four years later Movement | DFW was launched in 2014 as the first global expansion city of Movement.org. to provide a platform for a Unified City through a Unified Church across DFW. THE GOAL is to convene and collaborate with the faith community from all quadrants of DFW.
THE STRATEGY is to identify like-minded DFW leaders who desire to design, mobilize and invest in a long–term strategy that will impact the City for the sake of the gospel. THE RESULT will be the creation of specific plans and actions to accelerate or incubate best practices to address the issues facing the City and to serve as the focus of the combined efforts of hundreds of organizations throughout DFW. The thrust of this initiative is to create collaborative relationships among church, faith-based nonprofits, and market place leaders to have greater impact on the spiritual and social needs of the city. Movement Day is not a programmatic ministry with easily measurable metrics. It is a platform designed to incubate and accelerate ministries to have greater impact by working together. Key to the 2018 efforts are Strategy & Action Plans for our Core Areas of Engagement: * Racial Reconciliation and Unity * City-Wide Spiritual Transformation * Poverty Alleviation and Job Creation for those most in need * Education Transformation and Protecting our Children who are at Risk
