Project Destiny, Inc.
www.projectdestinypgh.orgProject Destiny, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)3 dedicated to the Pittsburgh Northside community. Since 2004, Project Destiny has provided a safe place where youth and families can find needed resources. Our After-School Program, founded in 2007, is for school-aged children living in one of the 18 Northside communities. The program operates from 3:00pm-6:00pm. We provide tutoring, homework assistance, and enrichment activities. We also provide any school supplies our students need to complete their work. Participants are also provided a hot meal. During the summer months, we hold Camp Destiny - a Monday thru Friday full day camp that provides hot meals, enrichment programs, weekly field trips, and trips to the local pool for school-age youth. Our Youth and Family Engagement (YFE) program is funded through the Department of Human Services. YFE works to prevent entry of families into the Children and Youth Services system in Allegheny County. We hope to be able to reach further and expand the services in our mission to REIGN in the community and bring out the young leaders in our children. Our newest initiative, Thrive 18, seeks to improve health outcomes for Northside residents of all ages by identifying barriers to health and then setting up services to address those barriers.
