Afterglow is the brainchild of UK entrepreneur Jay Barratt, an avid gym goer and runner, who while shopping for new sportswear, realised there was hardly any eco-friendly gym clothing for men and women. Jay set out to create a new brand of sustainable gym clothing and accessories aligned with the ‘circular economy’, a revolutionary system of manufacture and commerce, in which everything is sourced from eco-friendly materials, omits little to zero waste, and can be easily recycled or reused. Afterglow is committed to environmental issues and reducing our impact. From our innovative, eco-friendly fabrics, to the zips, trims, cords and swing tags used to create Afterglow clothing, all of our garments are made as sustainably as possible. Our primary mission is to inspire people to be fit and healthy, while protecting the environment. For example, just one Afterglow gym hoodie saves at least 12 PET 500ml plastic bottles from polluting the ecosystem. All of Afterglow’s heat transfer logos are made using 100% recycled ink from our supplier’s factory. As far as we know, we will be the first brand in the world to utilise this amazing ink recycling technology! Our brand is committed to further reducing our effect on emissions, which is why we have settled on a fabric producer in Europe and manufacture our garments right here in the UK. Our garments are also completely metal free, the supply chain for trims, such as metal eyelets for drawstring cords, cannot be effectively audited for sustainability nor recycled. Even our packaging and delivery fulfillment are as earth-friendly as we can make them.
