Ohrna is a social enterprise, launched with a focus on creating organic and sustainable products that enable financial independence among homebound women and preserve time-honored craft traditions. Our products are all sustainable, made of a jute base combined with and lined with cotton. Ohrna patronizes jute because it is a natural vegetable fiber. Our packaging is also made of up-cycled saris. The meaning of Ohrna is ‘veil’ in Bengali, a language of India’s east. For a woman, an ohrna adorns her attire, provides her the grace and comfort she seeks and shields her from the harshness of the sun.
