Din l-Art Ħelwa is a non-governmental, not-for-profit, voluntary organisation founded in 1965 to safeguard the historic, artistic and natural heritage of Malta. Since its foundation, Din l-Art Ħelwa has restored and managed numerous cultural sites of immense historic and environmental importance. We promote the preservation and protection of historic buildings, monuments, places of natural beauty, national fauna and flora and retention of the character of our towns and villages. Since 1965 Din l-Art Ħelwa has saved 40 national sites like Our Lady of Victory Church, Valletta, The Red Tower in Mellieħa, St Mary’s Tower, Comino with restoration. We have helped establish areas of natural beauty such as Foresta 2000 and Il-Majjistral Nature and History Park, preserving them for future generations. Our work is entirely voluntary and we depend on public support to continue our mission. Funds are raised by membership fees, donations and sponsorships.
