CyRide is a public transit agency serving Ames, Iowa. It is a collaboration between the City of Ames, Iowa State University (ISU), and ISU's Student Government. We have around 150 full-time and part-time drivers who operate our fleet of 89 buses on 11 fixed routes, 3 circulator routes, and Moonlight Express at nearly all hours of the day. Drivers receive a starting pay rate of $16.96 per hour with paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, health, dental, and life insurance, retirement plan, a $1,000 sign-on bonus, and many other benefits available. CyRide is consistently rated by Ames citizens as one of the City's top services thanks to our dedication to excellence. We employ drivers from a variety of backgrounds including adults seeking full or part-time employment, college students looking for a job that works with their busy class schedules, and retirees seeking supplemental income among others. We also offer a thorough training program for all new drivers; no previous training or experience are required. If you are selected for the position, you will be trained for your CDL with all necessary endorsements. You will also be trained to drive our buses on our routes by our instructors. Once you are finished with training, you will be given a temporary work schedule that fits with your availability before picking your own weekly work schedule so you can work as you choose.
