Pleasant Bay Community Boating
www.pbcb.ccPleasant Bay Community Boating, Inc is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the development of educational and recreational opportunities in the Pleasant Bay area of Cape Cod with primary emphasis on teaching sailing to youths 8 to 16. Four towns; Chatham, Harwich, Orleans, and Brewster share the shoreline of the Bay. Pleasant Bay Community Boating began in 2002 as a program vision of the Chatham Marconi Maritime (History and Science) Center (CMMC). In 2003, PBCB became a separate Organization and turned vision into action with six Daysailers. PBCB now has a fleet of seven 19 foot Flying Scots, and three 12 foot motorized Boston Whalers for use by instructors. Now our membership exceeds the 200 mark. Though still a new organization, PBCB has gained national recognition. In 2006, a sailing team from PBCB qualified for the National Women's Championship, finishing fifth. In 2007 PBCB received a national community sailing award from USSailing. The summer of 2014 is our 11th season of sailing with an exciting array of programs. We hope you will join us and support us.
