Society of Junior Doctors (SJD) was founded by medical students and young physicians from all over Greece in September 2009. Main goals of the Society of Junior Doctors are: I. The advancement of knowledge and medical science, II. The enhancement of communication, cooperation and solidarity among physicians, III. To serve the community by informing the public on issues related to medical science (epidemiology, pathogenesis, prevention, diagnostic and therapeutic advances), IV. To maintain mutual trust in the patient-physician relationship. Society of Junior Doctors: • Publishes scientific papers in internationally renowned medical journals (e.g. New England Journal of Medicine, Stroke, Archives of Neurology, Emerging Infectious Diseases, Journal of the American College of Surgeons, Breast Cancer Research & Treatment, Cancer, Fertility & Sterility), • Organizes Scientific Meetings, Conferences and Educational Seminars, • Supports and relies on voluntarism, • Undertakes charity work, • Advises its members towards their professional career. SJD addresses to medical schools graduates, residents, specialists, medical students, health professionals and the general public who envision the path to knowledge via the ancient Greek saying: “Strength in unity”
