Ontario Association of Radiologists
www.oarinfo.caThe Ontario Association of Radiologists, which represents the province’s more than 1,000 radiologists, has long been an advocate for Ontario patients – fighting to ensure the highest standards of patient care, fighting to replace out-dated diagnostic imaging equipment, fighting for more CT (Computer Tomography) Scanners and MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) machines, and fighting to reduce wait times for diagnostic testing. Radiology is essential to the diagnosis of cancer and other diseases. Early diagnosis saves lives. Without diagnosis there can be no treatment; there can be no cure. A 66-year legacy of representing the highest standards of quality patient care in both the diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology services provided in hospitals and Independent Health Facilities (IHFs) throughout Ontario. The Association is dedicated to representing both the public and its members in the advancement of medical imaging technology and the promotion of high quality patient care through improved access to medical imaging services. The OAR is a leader in providing Continuing Medical Education (CME) courses on a variety of current diagnostic imaging subjects.
