We produce and market biodegradable disposable dinnerware, through community-owned micro-enterprises spread across North East India. The tableware provides quality green alternatives to urban and global customers and generates sustainable livelihoods amongst rural women and youth, locally. We envisage to replace 2000 MT of toxic disposable plates annually by 2025 and in the process generate employment for 20000 rural women and youth. We work on products, which makes this world, a better place in the long run. We also ensure a sustainable process, thus we focus on production by masses model to generate maximum employment. Partnering with rural communities to value add commodities with the use of appropriate technology has been our core philosophy. While achieving these goals we strive hard to be innovative in our products, processes, and structures. Tamul’s delivery mechanism is unique. It provides support to the rural producers in the complete value chain. It is just not about creating a value chain but to simplify the process for every stakeholder and create a win-win relationship between all the stakeholders. Tamul has successfully created this relationship and strives hard to strengthen this relationship both in terms of quantity and quality.
