Hampshire Search and Rescue (HANTSAR)

Hampshire Search and Rescue (HANTSAR) is a voluntary lowland rescue organisation that provides round the clock support to the police in any weather conditions to search for vulnerable missing persons across Hampshire. We may also be asked to search for downed aircraft, weapon or a piece of evidence. We are also available to help in cases of civil emergency and have our own water team. All our operational volunteers are professionally trained to the high standard required by the police and the Association of Lowland Search and Rescue, including in navigation, first aid, search techniques and radio communications. We are deployed to search in wooded areas, open land, beaches, recreation grounds, car parks and urban areas. HANTSAR does not receive any external funding and we are completely dependent on our own fundraising activities, membership subscriptions and donations to fund our work. We do not employ any person and 100% of funds raised go to support our operations. Our Search Technicians fund their own travel costs to call-outs and most of their kit and equipment. We are always looking for prospective members both operational to train as search technicians and support members to assist with administration and fundraising. To learn more about what we do or to donate or if interested in joining please visit our website at www.hantsar.org
