Our Mission: To protect and restore the Anacostia River for all who live, work and play in its watershed and to advocate for a clean, healthy river for all its communities. Anacostia Riverkeeper is the voice for clean water and healthy communities in the Anacostia Watershed. The waters of the Anacostia River connect parts of the District, Montgomery and Prince George's Counties. Like a "neighborhood watch" for the watershed, we patrol our streams and rivers and hold polluters, developers, and government officials accountable to their environmental responsibilities. We advocate for clean water laws that are fair and enforced consistently.
