Special Pals has been saving animal lives in Houston since 1979. Founded as one of the first no-kill shelters in the city, we have grown into a small but mighty team of rescuers and animal advocates who simply want to make things better for the animals in our community. We offer services to our community that help keep pets and people together, and we work hard to give the animals in our care a fresh start. Our mission is to save as many animal lives in Houston as possible in cooperation with local rescue organizations. We empower our community to support animal health and safety, and we envision the day when Houston is the Gold Standard for animal welfare.
