Canadian Nuclear Society Société Nucléaire Canadienne The Canadian Nuclear Society (CNS) promotes the exchange of information on all aspects of nuclear science and technology and its applications. This includes nuclear power generation, fuel production, uranium mining and refining, management of radioactive wastes and used fuel. Other topics include medical and industrial uses of radionuclides, occupational and environmental radiation protection, the science and technology of nuclear fusion, and associated activities in research and development. The CNS membership of approximately 1000 is comprised of individuals directly involved with nuclear technology in any of the above areas, or one simply interested in nuclear topics. Mission Support and promote nuclear Science, Engineering & Technology, and related fields, by: 1. Acting as a forum for the exchange of ideas and information. 2. Advancing education, knowledge and understanding. 3. Enhancing and maintaining the professional and technical capabilities of those involved in the field, particularly in the Canadian context. Vision The CNS is the organisation of choice in Canada for the nuclear Science, Engineering & Technology community and its stakeholders seeking accurate information about nuclear related disciplines and issues. (Stakeholders include the general public, labour unions, government, educational institutions, the private sector, and media representatives.)
