Township of Altadena
www.altadenatowncouncil.orgThe Purposes of the Altadena Town Council are: (1) to act as an ombudsman for the neighborhoods of Altadena, conveying the needs and wishes of the residents to any county state or federal governmental body or agency, and (2) to provide a forum for a town meeting in which to discuss issues of concern to the Altadena Community Altadena is not an incorporated city, like Pasadena or Los Angeles, so we don’t have a mayor or a City Hall; instead, Altadena is managed by the Los Angeles County Supervisors. Supervisor Kathryn Barger is our “Technical Mayor” but besides Altadena, he’s also responsible for 71 other towns—a total of almost 3,000 sq miles, over 2 million people; so, he relies HEAVILY on our Town Council.
