Established in January 2009, Enactus at Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (SSCBS) was started as an attempt to reach out to people in need, based on principles of entrepreneurship and philanthropy. Enactus SSCBS (formerly known as S.I.F.E. S.S.C.B.S.) has been operational for eleven years now, and has continuously striven to use the positive power of business to empower the underprivileged. With a three-fold objective of economic, social and environmental betterment, the team believes in its power to be the change the world needs. Enactus SSCBS has carried out 8 successful projects in total and is currently involved in projects Khidki, Avya and Pravaah. Project Pravaah aims to offer holistic clean air solutions to each and every section of the society at affordable cost and enabling the skilled unemployed youth to raise their own livelihoods. The mission of Project Avya is to provide affordable and potable water solutions at home to the slum dwellers and other low income groups by making water related innovative solutions readily available and sensitising on safe water practices. Project Khidki aims to eradicate malnutrition in slum communities by providing supplementary nutrition to children, optimizing Anganwadis, and reforming childcare practices.
