The College of Dental Surgeons of BC regulates dentistry (dentists, dental therapists, and certified dental assistants) in the public interest. The College assures professional standards of oral health care, ethics and competence by regulating dentistry in a fair and reasonable manner. The College fulfills its mission statement by setting requirements to practice; establishing, monitoring and enforcing standards of conduct and care; and, where necessary, disciplining registrants; as well as monitoring continuing education of registrants. Our regulatory mandate as a self-governing profession stems from the Health Professions Act and the Bylaws made under the Act.
