With the Consul General of India, Hong Kong, as our patron, FIPHK was formed in 2001. We are a non-profit, registered organisation in HK that provides a platform to professionals of Indian origin to network, interact and participate in events, focused on current affairs, culture, literature, business, sport, health & well-being. The Forum is also involved in taking on issues relevant to Indian professionals and the Indian community in HK, including participating in Government white papers and discussions, responses to media reports and editorials. As we have a close association with the Consul General of India, we work with them on various initiatives as well. Over the years, there has been a steady increase in the number of Indian professionals in Hong Kong and the FIPHK draws its membership from a cross-section of professionals from various industries like banking and finance, telecom, IT, media, shipping, insurance, law, accounting, consulting, medicine and academia, transcending regional, linguistic and cultural boundaries. Our members are professionally qualified individuals who hold senior positions in HK corporates and represent a diverse and rich cross-section of regional, linguistic, and professional backgrounds. We also organize seven main events during a calendar year. Apart from our marquee events, we invited prominent personalities to address and interact with our members Over the years, we have had the privilege of hosting Gen. Bikram Singh, Mr. Shashi Tharoor, Mr. NR Narayana Murthy, Mr. Prakash Jha, Mr. Vikas Swarup, Mr. Amitav Ghosh, Mr. Chetan Bhagat, Mr. Sunil Gavaskar, Ms. Mary Kom, Ms. Kiran Bedi, Mr. Harsha Bhogle to name a few.
