Uilenkatten is a company that gives talent a stage. It started at Uilenstede where regular house parties are held that we wanted to make memorable by converting the living rooms into a club. Our target group is diverse, so we have built up a wide spectrum of musical genres in our network. Meanwhile, we see talents of Uilenkatten spread through parties of study and student associations. We are proud of this. So far we have mainly given DJs a stage and want to expand this with singers, rappers and live music. We also believe that talent does not have to come from far, it can be found in every person and we continue to search for it. Every year, in collaboration with the Residents' Association of Uilenstede, a magical evening takes place where our best talents are collected for the Home Front Festival. We build this festival every year and look forward to future collaborations. The general mission of Uilenkatten specifically on the campus is to show everyone a good time and to improve the cohesion of the population, which is very dynamic due to its international character and the huge influx of exchange students. Uilenkatten events are open to everyone and we seek to connect more people and interests this way. At the time of writing we are involved with 1-2 events a week and slowly investing into more equipment (lighting etcetera) and bigger goals to achieve.
