Teddy Bears have a profound positive effect on the emotions of both children and adults, Osito (the Spanish word for “Little Bear”) we all have an innate attraction to them. When someone receives a Teddy Bear they feel less depressed, anxious and agitated and demonstrate a higher sense of enjoyment and life satisfaction. What Osito’s Done • Given over 8,000 Teddy Bears in six states • Hosted the first Children’s AIDS Day • Two Proclamations from Mayor Annise Parker of Houston “Proclaiming February 12, 2010 & 2011 Children’s AIDS Day” • Received two “Letters of Support” From Gov. Rick Perry(R-Tx) • “Certificate of Congressional Recognition” from Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Tx) • Hundreds of search results available on Google: Articles, Press Releases, links from/to other websites. • The Osito Foundation has a student organization on the campus of University of North Texas.
