Since 1963, more than 63,000 individuals from 1,700 institutions, have traveled to more than 60 countries on Semester at Sea and its predecessor programs. Semester at Sea is a 501c3 non-profit based in Fort Collins, Colorado in conjunction with Colorado State University. Colorado State University has been the academic partner for Semester at Sea since June 1, 2016. Founded in 1870 as a land-grant institution, CSU combines intellectual classroom pursuits with hands-on experience in the field and laboratory— similar in approach to the Semester at Sea global comparative experiential learning model. As the recipient of the 2013 Senator Paul Simon National Award for Outstanding Campus Internationalization, its significant role in the founding of the Peace Corps, and its emphasis on the importance of diversity and global education, CSU is a natural partner for the SAS program. One-of-a-Kind Shipboard Campus Courses: Semester at Sea offers up to 75 courses. Field Classes: Every course includes one in-country educational field class for experiential learning. Field classes promote engagement to further learning and discovery in each country. Academic Program: Semester at Sea’s rigorous academic program integrates coursework from more than 20 disciplines. Courses: • Courses are open to all majors • 20-25 disciplines of study • 75+ course offerings • Field classes • Courses are accredited by CSU and are fully transferable. Financial Aid: ISE awards up to 4 million of financial aid and scholarships each year. Voyages: • 10-15 Countries • 4 Continents • 100-110 Days long • 12-15 transferable credits • Off the beaten path destinations • Hands-on and experiential learning • Varying cultures and economies www.semesteratsea.org
