What problem are we solving? Two facts explain clearly what problem we address. First fact: around 40% of all solar energy installed capacity in the world comes from installed PV panels in homes, businesses and communities. Second fact: in the case of wind energy, the figure is around 1%. That is, unlike solar energy with a strong share in distributed generation, wind energy is largely concentrated in wind farms commissioned under conventional windmills. The reason behind that is related to the fact that high efficiency levels for conventional windmills are only achievable at utility scale. This means that conventional windmills do not reach high efficiency at lower scale, which greatly restrains distributed generation expansion, preventing homes, communities and businesses from exploiting their own wind resources. What is our solution? Our solution is based on “Eolic Cells”, which are novel aerodynamic structures designed to double the wind speed in order to harvest more power from the same wind resource. Additionally, Eolic Cells are modular, compact and can be piled up like Lego to form a larger structure, the Eolic Wall, designed to fit every single energy need with a unique solution ready to grow gradually as required. That is, unlike conventional windmills with low efficiency at distributed-generation scale, the Eolic Wall has the ability to be efficient even at lower scales and, thus, help to boost the spread of distributed generation among homes, communities and businesses.
