CALLING ALL COMIC FANS! Did you know that the groundbreaking Comics Salopia comic festival is returning to Shrewsbury? Even if you’re not a comic fan, there are lots of amazing activities, stalls and exhibitions across the town for people of all ages to take part in. Shrewsbury Prison will be hosting an amazing Judge Dredd interactive experience, followed by a screening. Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery will be holding ‘The Walking Dead’ exhibition with original work. Working with Shropshire’s library service and Redan Publishers, we are proud to announce a children’s zone at Shrewsbury Library, where junior comic writers and artists will WOW our younger visitors and hold interactive workshops. Don’t be surprised if Pippa Pig is there to greet you! Our headliner is the amazing Frank Quitely who is MASSIVE in the comics world! Guests are flying in from America, Japan, Canada...and we have so many wonderful local artists from Shrewsbury itself, including but not limited to our festival patron, Charlie Adlard of The Walking Dead and X-files. We will be featuring artists from all walks such as Marvel, DC Comics, Image Comics, Dreamworks, Blue Sky and Disney on works such as Netflix's DAREDEVIL, X-Men, Superman, Batman, The Hulk, Hellboy, Venom, Judge Dredd, 2000AD, Roy of the Rovers, Jurassic Park, Rick & Morty, How To Train Your Dragon, The Beano, Puss in Boots...to name a few! We have a Star Wars actor teaching light sabre fighting, a zombie walk and cosplay walk competition; the aim is to make the festival truly inclusive for all ages and backgrounds.
