Sickle Cell Advocacy and Management Initiative (SAMI) is a non-governmental organisation established in 2008. It was established, as a result of the founder’s - Ms Toyin Adesola - experience living with Sickle Cell Disorder as well as her discovery (while writing her book “Still Standing”) that many people lacked knowledge about the Disorder. Our vision: Build a society where Sickle Cell Disorder (SCD) is reduced and people with the Disorder - as well as their families - are able to lead healthy, positive and productive lives. educating, creating awareness, and providing support through a strategic partnership. Our mission: Empower and improve the lives of people, especially with SCD through strategic partnerships via educating, empowering, creating awareness, and providing support.
