My name is Josh Palasz, the curly headed, surf loving, coffee sippin guy behind the parrot. What’s the Parrot you ask? Parrot Films, a video production company specializing in weddings, elopements and commercial videos. Parrot Films was birthed in the SHOWER. At the time I was operating a smaller video company and knew it needed a rebrand. Whilst lathering my body in the shower, I randomly had the idea of “Parrot Films”. The idea of a parrot stood out to me because parrots speak back to people. In the same way, I want to speak back powerful stories through video. Another facet of the parrot is that generally parrots are colorful, fun, and vibrant, and I basically am a parrot in human form, expect I am a color blind. (plot twist) A bit about me. I grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but quickly realized I wanted a smidge more adventure. So I joined the Marine Corps, which gave me the adventure I was seeking. Post Marines, I served as a youth pastor helping students in need, and once again was looking for more adventure. I decided to move to Australia and further my education at Hillsong International Leadership College. In Australia my love for film was birthed. Shortly after I bought a video camera and started telling testimonies at my church. Being able to film people’s stories was powerful and resonated deep within my heart. To grow in my skill, I was mentored by a few video and editing professionals in Fort Worth, Texas. While growing professionally, I moved back to Milwaukee to establish Palasz Studios which morphed into the beautiful, alluring, majestic, Parrot Films. I also took on the role of Creative Director at Mix Church, which sharped my creative and leadership skills. In 2020, I decided to relocate San Diego in hopes of growing my business on the golden coast 😎 ( really I just wanted to surf 🏄♂️). Currently I am studying my masters at Point Loma Nazarene in Organizational Leadership and operating Parrot Films full time! LETS MAKE MAGIC !!
