La Comisión Interamericana de Derechos Humanos (CIDH) es una de las dos entidades del Sistema Interamericano de protección y promoción de los derechos humanos en América, junto a la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos. La CIDH tiene su sede en Washington, D.C. La Comisión tiene la función principal de promover la observancia y la defensa de los derechos humanos en los 35 Estados Miembros de la Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA). La CIDH fue creada en 1959, reuniéndose por primera vez en 1960.
