What is Honest Mountains? Honest Mountains is a social enterprise that aims to create the best and most sustainable base layers for outdoor adventures in Europe. We take advantage of the incredible properties of the Merino Wool, to create extremely comfortable base layers that perform in rough conditions and are beautiful to wear. What makes us unique is our strict product quality requirements, and that we are working to return to Europe the supply chain. The current industry standard is to buy the wool in Australia, ship it to south-east Asia to process it and develop the fabric, then to another facility for manufacturing the garments, and finally to the stores in Europe. We don’t like this supply chain, especially since Merino Sheep is originally from Europe, and we are working on bringing it back to rural Europe; from happy sheep and farmer, to happy customer! What is Merino Wool and why is the fabric for the adventure base layers? Merino wool is a natural fiber, very sustainable that comes from the Merino Sheep. Its main properties are: - 100% natural and biodegradable. - Very comfortable – its wool thin as silk; it doesn’t itch! - Odor repellent - yes, you can use it for several days of intense activity, and the fabric won’t stink! - Very breathable - it will help reducing sweat, and drying it. - Keeps you warm in winter, and absorbs humidity in the core of the fiber to progressively evaporate it. - Protects from the sun in the summer. Who we are? We are four friends, adventure seekers, and outdoor lovers. Javi - the jack of all trades. Ex BCG partner, passionate about all kinds of adventures - climbing, MTB, skiing, etc. Ines - the yoga master. Ex financial controller, quitted gov. exams to take care of the family and Honest Mountains! Victor - the ski-pro and Iron-man'er. Now converted into a successful tech investor (Glovo, Cabify, etc). Miguel - the lost soul. Engineer by training, worked a bit before quitting to cycle Europe and Asia.
