On August 14, 1967, Legislative Act 225 created The State of Alabama Sports Hall of Fame (ASHOF). The ASHOF is dedicated to the celebration and preservation of Alabama's exceptional sports heritage. The ASHOF & Museum houses over 6,000 sports artifacts and is considered a benchmark for sports museums across the country. Located in downtown Birmingham, the Museum is home to the ASHOF Executive Offices as well as the Birmingham Athletic Partnership (BAP) and Bryant-Jordan Student-Athlete Program.
