THE SUSTAINABLE FLORISTRY NETWORK
www.sustainablefloristry.orgThe Sustainable Floristry Network works to give flowers a future. We want to lead the global flower industry into an equitable and sustainable circular economy. Our mission is to lead the global industry to more sustainable practices through education, certification, behaviour change and advocacy. We support, and are supported by, industry leaders worldwide. The Sustainable Floristry Network has identified five business and design principles to guide the transition to a more sustainable industry. These principles are aligned with the three pillars of sustainability – people, planet and profit – and are being developed through consultation with experts, an assessment of the latest science and in consideration of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, in particular SDGs #12 (Responsible consumption and production) and #13 (Climate action). To support these principles, we are: - developing an internationally recognised professional development course and accreditation program for florists to support the transition to a more sustainable industry. - building an online library of educational resources - developing a network of certified sustainable florists - collaborating with academics to ensure our work is science-based - actively engaging with the media to promote our message and activities
