The mission of the Center for Frontiers in Nuclear Science is to promote and facilitate the realization of the U.S. based Electron Ion Collider (EIC) by enhancing the science case and collaborations amongst the scientists around the world interested in the EIC. The EIC is essential for our understanding of quantum chromodynamics (QCD) and in particular the role of gluons and sea quarks in the structure of nucleons and nuclei.
