"Thinking Locally - Acting Globally." The Global Security Industry Alliance (GSIA) is an Alliance designed to unite the global security community around the principles of fairness, honesty, innovation, sharing, open communication, and "win-win" strategic cooperation. The GSIA is guided by a charter, originally signed by representatives of 30 international security trade groups and law enforcement organizations from 25 different countries, which promotes the building and maintaining of an international resource network dedicated to the advancement of fair international trade policies, support of beneficial trade exhibitions and conference programs, development of education and certification programs, identification and development of accurate market research, and support of technology standards and best practices for the global security community. While GSIA works at the global level to actively promote industry resources and organizations, it also works to find ways to bring those global resources to support the local activities of its individual Members and Partners. This local support is often in a "behind the scenes" customized role so as not to overshadow or distract from the prominence of the member GSIA is there to support. The GSIA mantra of "Thinking Locally - Acting Globally" underscores the GSIA's value as a force-multiplier resource and platform for like-minded organizations that are working towards the common goal of a safer and more secure global community.
