Hancock Center offers dance/movement psychotherapy, health and wellness sessions, and verbal forms of therapy. Dance/movement therapy is an innovative form of psychotherapy that uses expressive movement to help people learn more about themselves and their relationships with others. Licensed dance/movement therapists help their clients develop a healthy self-image, communication skills, and emotional stability. On-site programming includes individual, group, and family dance/movement therapy sessions, and socialization and empowerment groups for developmentally-delayed adults. Our therapists also coordinate a "Building Connection Through Movement" program in Madison area schools and facilitate therapy groups for children who have experienced trauma. Hancock Center therapists are available for workshops and trainings. Therapists have participated in statewide, national, and international outreach and trainings.
